I can't tell you how amazing it feels to be able to tell you this.... FINALLY.... my book has launched! (Australian readers, I have a P.S. for you.)
I don't know if I should be embarrassed to say this, but I began this project in 2012....yep, NINE years ago!!! Many things have knocked me off track. But this is the year of finishing things.
After all this time it's actually a bit surreal to be able to say....here it is. Launched. I can't believe it! In fact in recent days I've had messages from two friends in France who've already had it delivered and are starting to read it. This is SO exciting for me!!
The Buddha's insights are all about how to flourish in life - how to stop making a mess with the uncomfortable parts of being a human - how to travel life with greater ease, joy, energy and calm. That seems pretty relevant in this crazy time with all the anxiety, angst, fear and lostness that's going around. It's also a key source of wisdom infusing the Flourish program I'm building.
I've been learning and practising these teachings for decades now, and am a secular dharma teacher in my spare time ('dharma' refers to the teachings and the practice of them).
The book is aimed at newcomers to the dharma because the teachings are vast and they can be confusing and overwhelming. I've had SO many people ask me for an introductory book to help them get to the core of the Buddha's teachings without the religious stuff. I didn't know of one that fit the bill. So I wrote it!
If you like it, I'd REALLY appreciate it if you'd rate it and comment on it in Amazon. That way the Amazon black-box algorithm is more likely to pick it up and show it to more people. And that's my mission for this book - to find its way to everyone who'd benefit from it. It's unlikely to ever make money (or even cover the costs of producing it) but it's my little contribution to making a difference to people's lives. The ripple effects of that are only positive for our world.
